The folks behind Lola’s Cafe opened back in 2018 their first Dumpling Darlings (Amoy Street). Now, they open their second branch in the lively Circular Road.
First let us tell you something: that was the most delicious meal we have had for a long time!
Unorthodox dumplings with unique flavors, handmade noodles, great cocktails and affordable prices. On top of that, a buzzy atmosphere and ambiance that made us want to stay all night!
Too good to be true? Welcome to Dumpling Darlings!
THE SPACE
Other than two outdoor high tables, it is a predominately indoor dining space where the dim lighting makes it great for date nights.
Also, a wonderful design and branding right down to the coasters and menus. If you are at Circular Rd outlet, do not miss the outside full-wall painting. Two local young artists spent 3 days painting it, amazing right?
Tip: both outlets at Amoy and Circular Rd. are small so, make sure to book beforehand!

Bonus point: staff members are kind, friendly and extra attentive to everyone!
THE FOOD
On the menu are 9 flavorful-unique dumplings, 4 juicy handmade noodles and one unbelievably delicious dessert dumpling.
If you are unsure on what to order and would rather try a bit of everything, go for the Dumpling Platter of 15 ($20++), which includes three of each of these flavors: The Original, Veggie Mandu, Momo Curry, Fried Pierogi, Smoked Duck.
We were impressed with all the fillings. Our favorites? It was difficult to choose, but we loved the Fried Pierogi and Smoked Duck dumplings.
Pierogi dumpling was created after a visit to some friends in Holland. The filling is made of smoked bacon, truffle potato, caramelized onion, and Cheddar.
Personally, my favorite one was the Smoked Duck. The filling is made of smoked duck, shitake, caramelized leek and a Hoisin mustard balsamic vinaigrette.
As if that were not enough, handmade (and homemade) juicy noodles that wow-ed us! Made in-house, they achieve a unique texture using only 3 main ingredients: eggs, flour and water.
Both the XO Prawn noodles (available only @ Circular) and the Braised Pork noodles were delightful.
Definitely, we will go back to try the rest of the menu.
And hey, they dish out lunch sets too! At $16++, you’ll get a bowl of noodles, a dumpling dish, and a drink.
They have an impressive cocktail menu and natural french wines. Also, craft beers on tap.
And because there’s always room for dessert, and we could not leave without trying their famous “Pear & cheese dumpling with Tasmanian honey ice cream”.
Finally, they also offer delivery and takeaway island-wide! And if you need a catering for your event, drop them an email! We are sure they won’t disappoint you.
