Coastes: brunch by the sea

Situated along a golden stretch of Sentosa’s Siloso Beach, Coastes Singapore offers a rustic and laid-back beach vibe where the sunbeds and deck chairs flow right to the water’s edge.

At Coastes, you will be able to enjoy a leisurely brunch while taking in some sea breeze. Not bad, huh?

From open dining areas and beach beds, guests can pick from different alfresco spots to get their tan on!

For guests who prefer staying close to the pristine waters while immersing in the warmth of the sand, the Beachfront Area with its sunbeds provides front-row seats to the beach (rental cost is S$22 for a whole day and it comes with 2 glasses of complimentary iced tea. Each sunbed can fit up to 2 people).

Coastes has got you covered, offering a wide array of food options from brunch to pizzas, burgers, Western and healthy dishes, fresh seafood, cocktails, mocktails and premium beers.

They offer a wide range of drinks: juices, cocktails, premium draught beers, wine and mocktails (no alcohol). We could not resist to try the most famous cocktail in Singapore, the Singapore Sling! It was refreshingly delicious.

We tried a bit of everything, but our favorites were the Super Burger (S$26) and the Rösti with smoked salmon and poached eggs (S$18).

And because there is always room for dessert, we ordered the Salted Caramel Brownie (S$14), served with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice-cream.

We loved its generous serving and the deliciously fudginess without being overly sweet.

Bonus point: the wifi is free and quick, so if you want to #workfromCoastes, can lah!

FOC Group, bringing Barcelona beach vibes to Singapore

It all started off as a collaboration between Michelin Star Chef Nandu Jubany and a group of local Spain-aficionados, who wanted to recreate fine and authentic Barcelona flavours in Singapore.

“FOC” (pronounced as /fok/) means ‘FIRE’ in Catalan, the language spoken in Barcelona’s region.

Today FOC already owns 3 branches: FOC Hong Kong / FOC Sentosa (their Beach Club) and FOC Pim Pam (currently closed due to the covid-19 situation).

The menu offers a wide range of contemporary Mediterranean dishes (especially Catalonian), conceptualised by Michelin Star Chef Nandu Jubany.

With an open kitchen, mediterranean vibes and “Gigantes y cabezudos” (or giants and big heads, which is a popular festival celebrated in Spain) hanging from the ceiling, you will find yourself at home, your Mediterranean home.

Bonus point: the staff is super friendly!

One of the reasons we love FOC so much is firstly, because it reminds us to our hometown and secondly, its excellent money-for-value relation.

If you still have room for dessert, do not miss their best seller: Yin Yang (cheesecake) Cracker, inspired by the Catalan biscuit and similar to Chinese love letter.

If you are up to a more refreshing dessert, try their original crustless and  lemon pie. If, on the other hand, you’re craving a decadent chocolate dessert, go for their “FOC Ferrero”.
